Listen to your body.
It lets you know when it needs some attention.
For instance:
- Are you ever bothered by nagging headaches every now and then?
- Do you find yourself shrugging off the occasional neck and/or shoulder pain?
- Or experience tingling, numbness and/or pain in your arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers?
- Do you ever notice pain in your lower back or feel it running down the back of your leg sometimes, especially when you stand up after sitting for long periods of time?
These are a few signals from your body expressing its unhappiness and warning you to pay attention that perhaps your muscles are stressed out, overworked and tight.
Even though the pain may appear to "come and go" (and you may not always feel it in the same place), other muscle groups are compensating by working harder. This compensation will also affect your body's structure.
By now, it would, if you haven't already done so, be an ideal time to make an appointment and come in for a therapeutic lomilomi / bodywork session. If ignored, the symptoms may persist, becoming chronic and affecting more areas of your body, impeding and prolonging your healing process.
